1. Define Masjid al-Aqsa and its significance through exploration of its architectural, spiritual, and historical elements of the al-Aqsa compound.

2. Understand the historical, geographical, and cultural significance of Jerusalem as a historical city and spiritual locus for Muslims and other People of the Book (or Jews and Christians).

3. Analyze Islamic concepts and architectural aspects of Masjid al-Aqsa, including historical and modern-day examination of its structure.

4. Examine the historical and contemporary significance of Masjid al-Aqsa in relation to the students’ personal experiences and spiritual impact.

5. Recognize the changing status and cultural implications of the city's administrative boundaries.
